NATIONAL PARAMEDIC BANDING
Dear member,
As you are probably aware the Department of Health, NHS Employers and ambulance unions have agreed paramedics will be re-banded nationally from band 5 to band 6.
Paramedics, whose job description is matched to the new band 6 profile, will move from a pay scale paying from circa £21,000 to £28,000 to circa £26,000 to £35,000.
New paramedics appointed after 1st September 2016 will have a maximum 2 year consolidation of a learning period at band 5 prior to moving to band 6. –
Initial funding will be agreed by the Department of Health, NHS England and NHS Improvement.
Funding in future years will be linked to agreements between Ambulance Trusts and commissioners following the Urgent and Emergency Care Review (UECR).
UNISON locally has approached YAS to arrange a meeting to discuss implementation of the national agreement and how it may impact UNISON members, we will keep you informed of any developments

Consultation is now open on the draft Apprentiship Standard for Advanced Clinical Practitioner, this is open until 12pm on Tuesday 25th July 17.
Apprenticeship Standards are being developed as a result of major reform to Apprenticeships in England. These new standards describe the high level knowledge, skills and behaviors required to carry out a defined occupation. As part of the development of the standards, consultations are opened for interested parties to comment and influence their development. One of the methods is via online surveys and the link for this is below.
