Drugs and Alcohol testing

Following the Trust’s decision at the JSG today to unilaterally impose random drug and alcohol testing on all their members through the revised Drugs and alcohol policy, UNISON felt they had no alternative but to immediately withdraw from the meeting.

UNISON was the only Trade union to withdraw from the meeting following this imposition.

Whilst UNISON is not averse to discussing a policy, we feel this must be in partnership and focus on supporting members who come forward with drug or alcohol problems.

UNISON urgently requests the Trust reconsider this imposition as enforcing polices upon members is not in the spirt of partnership working.
