A&E WORKFORCE BAND 4 OVERTIME RATES

Dear member,

UNISON, the only recognised trade union representing workers within Yorkshire Ambulance Service, raised concerns at the JSG regarding protected band 4 A&E members only being paid at band 3 when working overtime, especially taking into consideration the extent of enforced end of shift overtime.

The trust has agreed to differentiate between voluntary overtime and ‘enforced’ overtime for Band 4 A&E staff affected by the workforce changes, ‘enforced’ overtime, such as end of shift, will be paid at the protected pay point on band 4 for the duration of the pay protection, i.e. the 5 years.

Voluntary overtime will be paid at band 3 as per the pay protection policy.
