PTS Meal Breaks & Subsistence Payments

The Trust put forward a proposal around meal breaks and subsistence payments for PTS, followed by a consultation of 30 days which was later extended. During this period UNISON provided a formal response to the proposal representing the views of our members which we collated from responses to a survey and a meeting at Buckles.

PTS staff rejected the trust proposal outright but agreed that we could negotiate with the trust to come up with an harmonised agreement across PTS, something that had never been addressed following the merger of the three former ambulance trusts.

We then heard nothing from the trust until last Friday when they decided to go ahead and implement the original proposal, basically ignoring our feedback and offer to discuss the issue with them.
