YAS Workforce Plan
On Monday Yorkshire Ambulance Service released its long awaited A&E Workforce Plan.
Firstly, despite the confusing wording in the document, the joint trade unions would like to clarify, that although discussions around the plan have taken place, no agreement on any part has been agreed.
Following on from the release of the document, it is clear that the trust intends to move away from agenda for change, the nationally agreed terms and conditions. The workforce proposal that has been sent out is incomplete and only gives members half the picture of what the trust has in store for members.
The Unions have been informed that the rotas ‘should’ follow in one to two weeks time. These, we understand, if early indications are to be believed, will have a massive impact on members work life balance, large scale movement of members, a potential reduction in cover for certain areas and a chance that some members will suffer a reduction in their unsocial hours payments.
Because of the various issues with the Plan and the fact that even now not all the facts are known, the joint unions have no choice but to recommend rejection. Each union will consult with its indivdual members on how they will be able to have their vote on the proposal.
