A&E Workforce Negotiations
Following the notice that was issued by the Trust last week, regarding the recent negotiations surrounding the new workforce plan, UNISON Branch Committee have now received an official proposal from the Trust.
Although the document in principle covers the areas of negotiations that have taken place over the last four months, the Branch Committee need to clarify certain points in order to prevent any ambiguity or misinterpretation and to be able to present a document which is as complete as possible to enable members to have an informed vote.
The Branch will shortly be organising mass meetings in each of the four areas to allow members to come forward with their views. Once meetings with members have been concluded, the branch will then go to a full vote of all affected members in order to determine whether to accept, or reject, the proposals.
Further discussions will also be held with the trust regarding the growing movement of all Paramedics moving into band 6. This has been gathering momentum around the country over the last few months. UNISON Yorkshire Ambulance Branch has been campaigning for this for a number of years, it is now very clear that numerous other Trust are taking the step to implementing band 6 and feel that, with the work force plan discussions taking place, now would be the right time for this Trust to join them.
