DELAYED BACKUP
Unison is aware of a number of incidents in which responders have had to wait a considerable time for a backup vehicle to transport patients to a treatment centre. The length of time on scene often with critically ill patients is adding to the stress faced by staff. The stress is increased by the fact all messages transmitted can be overheard by all bystanders and relatives. Unison is currently discussing the issue with YAS management.
Unison would ask that staff DATIX all these incidents either via the intranet or on the 24hr phone line
