UNISON Yorkshire Ambulance Branch Committee has been in negotiations with the trust since the initial proposals, the committee now believes it has achieved the best negotiated outcome as mandated by members.
Members main concerns were, enforced annual leave in the rota, an interruptible 20min paid meal break, mass staff movement from current base station, unrealistic timescales, an unworkable relief policy, part-time staff being placed on relief and the removal of AVP and subsistence payments.
UNISON has now successfully negotiated
- NO enforced annual leave in the rota,
- A protected meal break in the middle of a shift at base station with protected run back time when outside the window.
- No enforced staff movement away from base station,
- Timescales extended from the original October date to February.
- Improved and protected relief policy which now includes dedicated station relief
- Part-time staff retaining rota lines.
- Reinstatement of the urgent tier
- Minimum of one week’s training
- Extra 50 staff
- Commitment to consider “Self-Managed”
UNISON must highlight that if the proposal is rejected there is a strong possibility that the Trust may impose the FULL original package without the improvements negotiated and UNISON would be in formal dispute with the Trust which may result in industrial action
If you have any difficulty casting your vote or any other queries regarding the process please contact your area secretary
North and East Secretary Steve Somerfield 07525984434
Central Secretary Angela Skelton 07809509701
South Secretary Kevin Fairfax 07970912012
It is now down to UNISON members to decide whether to accept or reject the package
The ballot is for fully paid up UNISON (not lapsed) members only all ballot forms will be checked
