Please state ‘accept’ or ‘reject’ and if possible your reasons behind the decision (only affected staff are eligible to vote).

We have already had a strong return with large amounts of comments that have all been collated and will be passed to the Trust (all anonymous). From comments received so far there is a clear split, with most members not wanting the changes to policies but are ‘ok’ with the rotas, whilst there is still a group of members that are either still unaware of what line or rota they will be expected to work or that feel that the rotas are not going to give the cover that is needed and as such will in turn create more problems.

UNISON has also received information suggesting that rotas will be pushed in regardless of the vote result, this is not the case. The Trust has been clear that we are still in a consultation period and they still want to work with members and staff side to get a best fit rota for everyone.

We understand that some stations have agreed rotas and requested early implementation which they have a right to do, however the Trust would not be looking at starting the new rotas now until April, which gives staff side and members time to iron out issues and concerns that have been raised through the ballot process.

No station should feel pressured into agreeing anything prior to the end of the ballot and if such incidents do happen please contact your local area secretary or convenor.
